“A Journey in the Spirit”
‘SOUL’ is the name of our youth ministry program here in the Catholic Parish of Pittwater.
To develop a young Catholic community that really lives the Gospel and actively seeks to welcome others into that same place of belonging.
We have lots on offer for our young people from primary age through to young adults. Below is an outline of our regular events.
100% SOULHeld on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from 7-9pm in Mona Vale Parish Centre
Music, prayer & sharing - for year 10+ in search of something more!
This regular gathering is our senior youth group. It focuses on scripture readings and its application to our everyday lives. We have time in group prayer, small groups, games and activities, great music and fellowship. We also share a meal together and talk about things relevant to our faith & our lives today. $8 dinner & drinks.
SOUL Sessions - NEW TIME - NEW AGE GROUP
Food, sport, games & faith for year 5-9 students. Every Friday night of school term from 6pm to 8pm @ Mater Maria Catholic College, 5 Forest Rd, Warriewood. $5 for dinner and drinks.
This regular event is our junior youth group. It is a wonderful night that provides lots of fun, great friends and quality discussion time. We chat about life and how stories from the bible are relevant to young people today.
SOUL crew - Avalon - NEW
We will be starting a brand new youth group for Avalon in term 2, 2015. This will be focussed on high school students and will be held on Friday nights once a month in the Avalon parish centre. Lots of fun, some great discussion, prayer, music, games and a chance to hang out with other young people.
Stay tuned for more details.
For the young…and young at heart! Sunday’s 6pm Mona Vale Church.
The centre and most important part of our youth ministry is our SOUL mass. This is the place where all our young people can gather together every week to celebrate the Eucharist. The liturgy is focused towards our youth, the various ministries are led by our youth and our fantastic SOUL band features some of the most talented musicians and singers around. This strong musical element leads our community into worship and prayer in a powerful way.
A real community Mass – where Parish and School come together
In both Avalon and Mona Vale we host Family Masses throughout the year. These are led by class teachers, parents and students from both Maria Regina and Sacred Heart primary Schools. We focus the music and liturgy on the children and their families and it is a great occasion for school and Parish to gather as a community.
